Hi! I’m Lily
Welcome to my blog! This is a journal of my backpacking trips and other life adventures (usually hiking, or something else outdoors).
I’m currently based in Northern California. I’m a regular at Yosemite, Desolation Wilderness, Trinity Alps, Kings Canyon, and the Eastern Sierra, and have a long list of backpacking destinations on my mind for the future.
I keep my list of backpacking trips up-to-date, but my backlog of trip reports is forever growing. Between a full-time job and prioritizing traveling over writing about travel, it’s hard to write posts in a timely manner. But I do love selecting and editing photos and then bundling it all up in a trip report because it gives me a way to look back on these life highlights. Hopefully, these reports can be a source of inspiration for you just like other blogs are for me.
Please feel free to leave comments and questions on my posts, or shoot me a message through the contact form below. I love hearing from you!
Quick Facts
First backpacking trip: Henry Coe State Park in 2019. Technically, this was just a practice run for my first real backpacking trip, Half Dome in Yosemite.
Longest backpacking trip: 8 days on the Wonderland Trail in Mount Rainier National Park
Camera: Fujifilm XT-30 (more on my camera gear here!) and my iPhone 13 mini
Favorite backpacking meal: instant ramen, Annie’s mac n cheese, Peak Refuel Butternut Dal Bhat.
A snack I bring on every trip: Cheetos, sour gummies
Favorite local (CA) backpacking destination: Eastern Sierra
A backpacking gear hack: stretching a bug head net around my sleeping pad to keep my pillow in place. More on gear here.
Favorite gear less than $20: it brings me joy to eat with this Sea to Summit Long Handled Spoon
